Follow us:WhatsappFacebookTwitterTelegram.cls-1{fill:#4d4d4d;}.cls-2{fill:#fff;}Google News The city, which witnessed a communal clashes for the last three days, looked as if it had returned to normal on Wednesday. Barring the torching of a car at Shetti Galli, no untoward incidents were reported from any part of the city on Wednesday. While a few educational institutions and commercial establishments remained closed on Tuesday, the flow of people and vehicular movement in the city resumed to full strength on Wednesday. The vegetable market was packed with vendors though they sold their products for lesser prices than usual. Commercial establishments which downed its shutter by 7.30 pm on Tuesday remained open even till 10 pm on Wednesday. However, as a precautionary measure, as per the order of the district administration, cinema theatres cancelled the last show on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Rapid Action Force conducted a flagmarch in Peeranwadi, the locality from where the communal clashes began. Though things seemed to return to normal, police continued to maintain tight vigil in hypersensitive and sensitive areas of the city. As usual, rumourmongers ruled the day by circulating false reports of violence through SMSes. Reacting to media reports that a few CCTV cameras installed in important and sensitive areas were not functioning, SP Sandeep Patil in a press release issued here said that a CCTV camera installed near the Kapileshwar Temple tank, where Ganesh idols are immersed, was not functioning due to an electricity problem. The department was in touch with HESCOM and it would be fixed shortly. The remaining cameras are functioning smoothly, the release added first published:August 30, 2012, 08:42 ISTlast updated:August 30, 2012, 08:42 IST
