'Clean Cowsheds, Lay There': UP Minister’s Remedy To Cure Cancer
The BJP lawmaker further urged the people to celebrate their marriage anniversaries and their children's birthdays in cow shelters.

Uttar Pradesh minister and BJP leader Sanjay Singh Gangwar on Sunday made an unusual claim saying that cancer can be cured by cleaning cowsheds and lying in them. He further went on and said that the dosage of blood pressure medicines can be cut in half by petting cows and serving them.

The BJP lawmaker further urged the people to celebrate their marriage anniversaries and their children’s birthdays in cow shelters.

The minister made these unwonted claims while addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Kanha Gaushala, built at a cost of Rs 55 lakh in Nougawa Pakadiya in Pilibhit district.

“Blood pressure could be cured by petting the back of the cow. There are cows here and people should pet a cow on its back every morning and evening and serve it. After doing this, if the person was taking a 20 mg dose of blood pressure medicine, it would come down to 10 mg within 10 days. It is a tested formula,” the minister said in Hindi during the event, as reported by news agency PTI.

“If a cancer patient starts cleaning a cowshed and lying there, the disease can be cured. If you burn cow dung cakes, you will get relief from mosquitoes. So, everything that a cow produces is useful in some way for us”, he added.

Gangwar also urged the Muslims to come to the cowshed on Eid. “The vermicelli made on Eid should be made in cow’s milk.”

The gaushala inaugurated on Sunday will have a provision of fodder and medicine, as well as shelter for destitute cows. “Our effort is to connect people with the gaushalas. People have also been requested to celebrate their wedding anniversaries, their children’s birthdays with the cows and donate fodder to the gaushala,” the minister said.

Gangwar, the junior minister for sugarcane development is a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Pilibhit since March 2017.

Earlier this month, A BJP functionary from Indore district had urged organisers to make people sip “gaumutra” (cow urine) before letting them in garba pandals during Navratri festival as a Hindu can never refuse this precondition.

Proposing “aachman”, BJP district president Chintu Verma had said that the aachman practice has great significance in Sanatan culture. “We have requested organisers to ensure devotees do aachaman with cow urine before allowing them to enter garba pandals,” he had said.

The Congress had questioned the BJP leader’s call, terming it a new tactic of polarisation by the saffron party.
