BANGALORE: Reacting to the death of a policeman in an encounter that took place between the Naxalites and police personnel at Manjila forest near Savanaalu near Beltangady, Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that Naxal-infested areas would be identified and sufficient policemen would be deployed to tackle the problem.“As soon as I heard the news, I spoke to higher police officials, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and intelligence at around 6.30 am on Sunday.I have ordered the Deputy Commissioner to speed up the investigation process,” Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda told media persons here.“The state government will deploy as many policemen required to tackle the problem.I have given them three days to cover the border areas,” he added.M S Mane (40), a Bijapurbased ANF police constable died in the encounter.Mane Was Trained by BSF, NSGBANGALORE: Born on October 18, 1970, M S Mane was a native of Balagaon village of Jath Taluk in Sangli district in Maharashtra.He joined KSRP on May 24, 1993 as a constable and was trained in Shimoga.He was moved to KSRP Ninth Battalion in Bangalore and received commando training from Border Security Force near Yelahanka and got a three-month rigorous Police Commando Instructors Course in Haryana by the National Security Guard. He volunteered to work in the combing operations against Veerappan and was deputed in the Special Task Force from December 2000 to May 2003.
