HYDERABAD: A constable attached with Rangareddy district police and six others were arrested by Cyberabad police, for their alleged involvement in the killing of former naxalite V Pushpalatha at Ramanthapur 20 days back.Uppal police inspector R Satyanarayana Raju said the dispute over an one acre land at Nanakramguda led to the killing of Pushpalatha, who was a resident of Pragathi Nagar in Ramanthapur.Police said there was a dispute over ownership of a piece of land between film director D Teja and another person, Jayaram Singh. Pushpa got involved in the dispute and took the side of Jayaram Singh.Subsequently, the matter was settled in the court in favour of Jayaram Singh.While the dispute was going on, Pushpa allegedly engaged a hired assassin Sravan Kumar, to guard the disputed land with the help of Mominpet police constable Prabhakar.Sravan Kumar is an accused in a murder case and a hired assassin, police said.Sravan Kumar was promised Rs8 lakh for guarding the premises. After the land dispute got settled, a dispute on sharing of money arose between Sravan and Pushpa and the latter allegedly threatened Sravan of dire consequences."Sravan along with Prabhakar and five others decided to eliminate Pushpa.'
