Corporate espionage case: Police record 2nd FIR, raids coal, power ministry offices

New Delhi: Tightening the noose in the corporate espionage case, an energy consultant Lokesh has been arrested for allegedly leaking information from the Coal and Power Ministry. The consultant will be produced in court on Monday. Lokesh used to work with an energy consultant firm called Infraline based out of Noida.

The Delhi Police is holding raids at the Coal & Power Ministries. A fresh FIR has also been registered by the police in the case while a Noida based firm has been placed under scanner. More arrests are likely to take place including those at the junior level.

Meanwhile, the custody of the 12 people who were arrested for leaking information from the Petroleum Ministry is ending on Monday and will be produced in the court later in the day.

Meanwhile, Reliance ADAG issued a statement. "No search or raid has been conducted by police authorities at any offices of the Reliance Group anywhere in India. The work station of only one specific Reliance Power employee was searched, and no incriminating material of any kind was found. We are not aware of the circumstances leading to the arrest of that employee, and Reliance Power is fully cooperating with the authorities," Reliance ADAG said in the statement.
