Protesting against the policies of the Union and the state governments, the CPM will picket the Ernakulam Collectorate on Wednesday. CPM state secretariat member and district secretary M V Govindan will inaugurate the protest march and the picketing.
The demands that have been put forward by the CPM include immediate action against the price hike, ensuring food security, ration for all and the withdrawal of the electricity tariff hike.
CPM activists from Ernakulam, Vyttila, Tripunithura, Mulanthuruthy, Koothattukulam, Kolencherry, Kalamassery, Vypeen and Palluruthy area committees will assemble at the southern gate of the Collectorate while those from Paravoor, Aluva, Nedumbassery, Angamaly and Kalady area committees will lay seige to the northern gate, near the district panchayat office. Activists from Perumbavoor, Moovattupuzha, Kothamangalam and Kavalangad regions will assemble near the eastern gate, the leaders said.
