Months after the Mumbai Police issued an order imposing ban on flying activities of drones, the Cyberabad police in Telangana has now called for ban on drones in the wake of terror threat.
The directive has been issued by the police citing use of drones for photography and live telecast of events without prior permission from the police.
A notification in this regard says, "Inputs have been received by intelligence agencies about the possibility of attacks by terrorists/anti-social elements through para-gliders, remote-controlled drones, micro light planes etc."
"There is need to check and regulate the activities of terrorists/anti-social elements to prevent the attack through drone controlled by remote or through Control Aerial Missile or using para-gliders or through remote controlled micro-light aircraft," the notification further said.
The order issued by the office of Commissioner of Police mentions that "no flying activities of drone" will be allowed without prior police permission in writing.
