Delhi woman suffers burn injuries after acid attack

New Delhi: A 26-year-old woman suffered burn injuries after two bike-borne men threw acid on her in Nangloi area of west Delhi on Sunday. The victim, who is married, was on her way to the market in Nangloi where the two men followed her on bike and the pillion rider threw acid on her face and fled the spot, police said.

The woman suffered burn injuries on her face and neck and was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial hospital where doctors referred her to Safdarjung hospital, they said.

The victim has suffered 31 per cent burns and is recuperating. Her condition is said to be stable, they said. The woman in her statement has accused her maternal uncle and his wife for the attack. They are being questioned, police said.
