Driver Involved in Delhi's Hit & Run Arrested, CCTV Footage Nails Culprit
The officer said that Gupta works as a milk supplier for Amul, an Indian dairy cooperative.

The driver of the pick up autorickshaw involved in a hit & run case in Delhi's Subhash Nagar area was arrested by the police on Thursday evening based on CCTV footage procured from the site.

The accused Rajesh Kumar Gupta was arrested from West Delhi and has been booked under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) after his vehicle hit a 32-year-old man leading to his death on Thursday morning, Delhi police said.

"We managed to arrest the driver with the help of CCTV footage captured by cameras installed in the area," the officer said.

The CCTV footage showed the driver stepping out and checking if his vehicle had been damaged in the accident while ignoring the victim after which he drove away.

The victim Matbool was an e-rickshaw driver and also worked as a security guard at night, police said.
