CHENNAI: Mamallapuram police have altered the case of the death of a Dutch national to murder on Saturday, adding that the woman’s boyfriend, also from the Netherlands, was being interrogated. The death of Jose Vandy Villite Johanna was altered to murder as indicated by medical evidence, say police. Her boyfriend Remco Elizabeth Martin Joseph Knocker (32), who allegedly reported her death after one day, was being interrogated as he did contact the police within the specific time and his statements do not corroborate. His statement about outsiders attacking them did not match, police added.Initial post-mortem reports suggest that the woman’s head was banged against a wall, injuring her skull, and that her chest and stomach were punched. “The injuries on the woman’s body look like they were inflicted by one person not many. Also the man said that outsiders attacked them but there were no injuries on him corresponding to that statement,” said C Sylendra Babu, Inspector General of Police, North Zone.
