BANGALORE: Inaugurating ‘Seedsurge’, a seed support fund, an initiative of e- Health Technology Business Incubators (TBI), a technology incubator providing platform for technocrats, on Saturday, Jyothiramalingam, Principal Secretary, Commerce and Industries, Government of Karnataka, stressed the need to disseminate information about the initiative on a large scale.Assuring the government’s support for the project he said, “Our entrepreneurs have talent and ideas. We have to tap them. All we need is to encourage our human resources.”“Bangalore has now become a gateway to innovation. There are many companies looking at Bangalore to set up their Research and Development Centres. Just a few days ago, we have provided around forty acres of land near Devanahalli to Shell Company for setting up their Research and Development unit” he added.Prof Shivram Malavalli, CMD, eHealth TBI, spoke the need for paradigm shift in the way entrepreneurs work in the country.He said, “We are very good at providing service. About forty five percent of employees in IT and around fifty percent of the scientists around the world are Indians, but still we do not have a single Indian product like the Microsoft and Oracle to name a few.”Indian entrepreneurs need to think big. “The main purpose of the seed fund is to provide technology driven start-ups with financial support for deserving ideas and technologies which require aid,” he added.Harkesh Mittal, Secretary, Technology Development Board, Government of India, appreciated the idea of eHealth TBI. He also assured of  government’s full support for the venture.
