THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first exclusive portal on performing arts and artists in Kerala, www.thiraseela.com, was unveiled here on Wednesday. The website was inaugurated by Minister A P Anil Kumar at the Press Club Hall. Launched by Gleimo Technology Solutions, a software and website development company near the Technocity, the portal is a treasure trove of information on various arts. The site incorporates news updates, analysis, details of academies, troupes and artists, write-ups by noted people, photo clippings, studies on periodicals, news regarding books on art and culture and descriptions on music and drama fests. The descriptions on art forms can be accessed as categories in dance, dance drama, folk arts, instruments, ‘kshethra vadyam’ (temple instruments), music, performing arts and virtual arts. Profiles of performers, noted troupes and academies are also made available. Be it reviews, memories, stories and interviews, ‘thiraseela’ is a one-stop site for all that an enthusiast would want to know on the arts. By registering a package for a year, a five-page profile on arts can be created. The portal also features news on upcoming arts events from all the districts of the state. A directory of performers, troupes, academies, libraries and websites on arts provides an easy browsing to cater to the needs of an art lover. Says Veena Kiran, CEO of Gleimo Technology Solutions, “the site facilitates adding more than 50 photographs and descriptions. We also have plans to add videos on the site later.” Soorya Krishnamoorthy performed the profile inauguration by releasing the profile of Jana Samskriti troupe’s drama ‘Kalithozhi’ by Pirappancode Murali. Classical dancer Neena Prasad and Pirappancode Murali also spoke.
