THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: What made this little lean girl write about supernatural elements, we do not know. But Unnimaya seems quite fond of things that amuses her beyond any reasoning. The first book written by this student was released in the city a couple of weeks ago. The excitement has not died down till now for her. ‘After the Halloween Night’ is a short novel in ten chapters and the book also has a collection of ten poems. ‘’I love to read and write about supernatural things, this story was written by me two years back, and my friends had loved it,’’ Unnimaya says in a confident tone. The book was released at a function organised by the Centre for Film, Gender and Cultural Studies, which is a Facebook group that shifted to the real world some months back. Unnimaya is a class 9 student in Saraswati Vidyalaya, where her teachers and fellow classmates are familiar with the ‘’writer genie’’ in her.  ‘’I love to write stories more, but it takes time. But poems come more naturally to me,’’ she says. The story revolves around a Halloween night when three friends, little children, find themselves in the midst of a supernatural incident. For all the innocence that a child can put into her writing, Unnimaya’s story needs a reading from a child’s point of view.  The poems are also in English, which seems to be the language Unnimaya is comfortable with. ‘’I gave the published book to my friends. They are encouraging me to write more,’’ the girl says. And she wants to continue with her writing experiments in a more steady manner.
