HYDERABAD: The Central Crime Station police nabbed an ex-personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force in connection with various property offences in several localities in the city. J Satyanarayana, deputy commissioner of police (Crime) said police have arrested Kattamanchi Govardhan alias Kartthik alias Jayasurya, a resident of CRPF Quarters, Chandrayangutta and native of Vallivedu village in Chittoor district for committing various property offences. The DCP said the accused has been committing offences since 2007. Later, he started committing thefts in running trains. “So far, he has committed four offences in Kanchan Bagh police station limits and ten in running trains from Hyderabad to Vijayawada and Vijayawada to Chennai. Two non-bailable warrants have also been issued against him,” Satyanarayana said. “On his confession, about 20 tolas of gold ornaments, one Sony laptop, a Sony LCD TV, four cell phones, all worth about `6 lakh. Other items like rubber stamps, several ATM cards were also recovered from his possession. He also used to cheat people by posing as a senior military officer wearing military uniform,” the DCP added. Railway police have been informed for taking further action. The accused has been remanded to police custody.
