New Delhi: So who are Ramakant Yadav and Bal Chandra Yadav? Both were with the Samajwadi Party (SP) and are now with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
MP Ramakant Yadav has been chargesheeted in 17 criminal cases including some for murder. He was one of the accused in the 1995 raid at the UP state guesthouse where BSP leader Mayawati was held hostage for hours.
Ramakant Yadav blamed UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for betraying the Yadav cause and then switched to Mayawati's BSP.
In Uttar Praadesh, hopping parties is no big deal as long as one has votes. Both these Yadavs have successfully converted their expulsions into political achievements by retaining the Yadav support.
They defeated the Samajwadi Party candidates in the 2004 General Elections.
In recent times both Ramakant Yadav and Bhal Chandra Yadav have led a bitter campaign against their former party.
