THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF Government will speed up land acquisition at the Kinaloor Estate for establishing industrial projects, Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty said on Wednesday.
He was answering a question by Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, K Dasan, A Pradeep Kumar and P T A Rahim in the Assembly on the steps being taken by the UDF Government on the proposal submitted by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) for acquiring land under the Kinaloor Estate. The Kinaloor Estate had been in the news for all the wrong reasons in May 2010, during LDF rule, after the locals protested against the construction of a fourlane road to the estate. In his written reply, Kunhalikutty said that the report on Kinaloor Estate, including the survey number and sketch, had been submitted to the District Collector by the Koylandi tahasildar. To another question whether it had come to the notice of the government that private individuals were trying to take over the estate, Kunhalikutty replied in the negative. LNG terminal
