KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday ordered the constitution of a squad for the overall management of Sabarimala.The Devaswom Bench passed the order while considering the Sabarimala Commissioner’s report in connection with the functioning of the shrine during the festival season.The court asked for the constitution of a squad comprising an officer nominated by Pathanamthitta district collector, an official of DySP rank and a Travancore Devaswom Board official.“The squad will function in the manner that they can have the power to inspect any premises at any point of time if found necessary,” the court said. The court also asked the squad to report every action of it to the Sabarimala Special Commissioner. Meanwhile, the court appreciated the cleanliness project ‘Punyam Poonkavanam’. It, however, asked the authorities to take stringent action against those who neglect health and environment mandates.
