BANGALORE: The High Court on Friday reserved its order in a petition filed by former CM B S Yeddyurappa seeking anticipatory bail.Justice L Narayanaswamy, who heard the petition, rejected the petitioner’s plea to grant interim relief considering the summons to him to appear before the court on Saturday.Earlier, during the hearing, Supreme Court senior counsel Uday U Lalit appearing for Yeddyurappa submitted that the petitioner is entitled to anticipatory bail and termed the entire episode against the former CM as “a political battle”.He further pointed out that the sanction by the Governor is accorded under Section 13 (1)(d) and 13 (1) (e) of Prevention of Corruption Act.“How can they book him without an investigation?” he asked. On the allegations relating to denotification of two acres five guntas of land at Arekere, the senior counsel said that the prelimnary notification for denotification was issued in 1987 and final notification in 1990.On the other hand, counsel for Sirajin Basha, C H Hanumanthraya, said that the petitioners, over seven months, had obtained over 300 documents under the RTI Act.“This is not a summons trial, but a warrant trial,” he said.
