New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday passed the buck on Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung for massive waterlogging in the national capital.
Kejriwal tweeted, "This is strange. How can High Court not be concerned who is government? HC says LG is government and then asks CM to do the job? When HC has said that LG is government, then HC should summon LG for water logging."
Kejriwal's twitter post came after Delhi High Court slammed the civic body for waterlogging and said, "We cannot tolerate this year after year."
On August 31, the court asked the South Delhi Municipal Corporation and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to clear any clogging of movement of water and listed the matter for further hearing on September 28.
For the last few days waterlogging brought Delhi to a standstill in some parts of the city causing huge traffic snarls.
Opposition leaders blamed Kejriwal for the mess but the chief minister - referring to the High Court - said that if LG is the head of the government, then he should be held accountable for the waterlogging.
