An intensive search operation has been launched after 25-year-old woman Dipti Sarna went missing from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday night. The girl, who is a Snapdeal employee, was last seen near the Vaishali Metro station area before she went missing.
Along with ten teams of the Ghaziabad Police, Snapdeal is also putting up its efforts to trace its employee. It tweeted with the hashtag #HelpFindDipti from its official account seeking help from public to find Dipti.
Police is searching the jungles of Morti near Raj Nagar extension, where her last location was traced. They have found the SIM of her phone dumped in the area but the auto driver is still untraceable. As per police, the CCTV cameras at the Vaishali Metro station and the adjoining areas were not working.
Deepti's sister Neha Sarna said that before she went missing, she last spoke to a friend from Bengaluru and was heard shouting at an auto driver for taking a wrong turn.
City SP Salman Taj Patil said that Deepti was on her way from Vaishali metro station to the old bus stand of Ghaziabad where her father Narendra Sarna, a resident of Kavi Nagar, was waiting to pick her up.
Sarna told the police that when the auto crossed the Hindon river bridge, Deepti called him and gave him the location. She was also heard shouting at the auto driver for taking a wrong route, he said, adding thereafter her phone was switched off.

Upon information, police swung into action and launched a manhunt to search the girl. Police is trying to trace Deepti by electronic surveillance and monitoring some other mobile numbers. Some auto drivers were also summoned for questioning, the officer said.
Intervening in the matter, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, instructed the Ghaziabad SSP to personally head the search operation. "UPCM @yadavakhilesh has instructed SSP GZB to personally head the search operation of #HelpFindDipti. Several teams formed," said a tweet on his official Twitter handle.
