CHENNAI: A history sheeter met with a gory end at the hands of his own siblings following a property dispute at their house in Royapettah on Thursday.The victim Palani (38), resident of Pudupet Garden Street, was a notorious rowdy in the area with several cases, including murder and attempt to murder, against him, and had been booked under the Goondas Act, Inspector Rajasekhar told Express.The rowdy lived with his wife Poompuhar and three children in a room, while his sister Shanthi and brother Nagaraj lived in an adjacent unit, he said. There was simmering dispute between Palani, on the one hand, and his sister and brother, on the other, over the division of the house in which they were residing, the officer said.On Thursday morning, there was a verbal altercation between the two sides and Palani reportedly threatened Shanthi and Nagaraj with dire consequences. In a fit of rage, the duo assaulted him and smashed his head with a grinder stone and escaped. Royapettah police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder), and have launched a manhunt for the absconding duo.
