BANGALORE: Ian Felton has succeeded Richard Hyde as the British Deputy High Commissioner in the city.“It is a huge honour to represent the United Kingdom in Karnataka. I am delighted to have this opportunity to make my contribution to such an important initiative for our two countries,” Felton said.Commenting on importance of the business ties between the UK and Bangalore, he said, “Bangalore is one of India’s most important business hubs. As such, there are numerous British companies have invested here and several Indian companies from Bangalore have a base in the UK. British investment and expertise can be seen across sectors in Bangalore including IT, telecom, biotech, automotive, aerospace, financial services and retail.”He also highlighted the importance of the ties between the UK’s and India’s knowledge economies. Felton was earlier a ambassador in the Republic of Guinea.
