Mumbai: An FIR was filed at the D N Road police station in Mumbai against an unknown person for violation of the code of conduct on the basis of CNN-IBN Special Investigation on Votes for Sale in the municipal polls.
The investigation into the election process in the city in the past few days has revealed that a lot of money has changed hands in these polls. But who has been bought and who has been propped up is very hard to tell.
Also, the team found that it is the local dada (goon) who actually holds the key to the local votes.
Soon after this part of the investigation was telecast on Monday, the Maharashtra state election commissioner Nand Lal has promised immediate action against anyone trying to purchase votes.
