In another hit-and-run shocker from Maharashtra, a young woman was mowed down by a speeding car in Nashik on Tuesday. The victim was flung in the air and thrown about 15-20 metres after the white car hit her from behind, as seen in the CCTV footage.
The bone-chilling footage of the incident also showed two men standing on the same side of the road trying to save the woman, Vaishali Shinde, from being hit but to no avail. They can be seen rushing towards her after the horrific crash. Though she was rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver fled the scene after the accident, which occurred in the Gangapur area around 5 pm. The police have detained two people.
The incident comes three days after a BMW driven by Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah’s son, Mihir, rammed into a two-wheeler from behind in the Worli area of Mumbai on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of Kaveri Nakhwa (45), who was riding pillion, while her husband Pradeep survived with injuries.
Kaveri Nakhwa was dragged for around 1.5 km by the speeding car before Mihir pulled it over, swapped the seat with his driver, and fled in another vehicle, according to police.
