Addu (Maldives): India on Thursday rebuffed Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik's claim that there was no proof against Jamaat-ul-Dawa chief Hafeez Saeed to prosecute him in the 26/11 attacks case, saying it has provided dossiers which contains 'enough evidence' to take the case forward.

"We have provided dossiers that have great deal of information and enough evidence that Pakistan can take forward. As far as we are concerned there is information in the dossiers of Pakistan to take action," Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai told journalists here.

He was replying to a query on Malik's statement earlier in the day here that information was not legal evidence to prosecute Saeed.

In an apparent dig at Malik who had also said that Mumbai attacks convict Ajmal Kasab should be sent to gallows as he was a terrorist, Mathai said if Malik could say that Kasab should be hanged then Pakistan should also take into account his confessional statement which is an evidence and act on it.

To another statement by Malik comparing the Samjhuata train blast with Mumbai attacks and whether it diluted India's case, Mathai said that the comparison was not valid because Samjhauta express took place inside India and there was no cross-border terror involved in it.

Replying to a question whether Pakistan was serious about 26/11 case trial, he said if one were to take into account the steps taken by Pakistan like deciding on sending a judicial commission to India to record the statement of chief investigating office, the metropolitan magistrate and two doctors, it could be considered as part of action they want to take.
