Infiltration bid foiled along LoC; 3 soldiers, 1 terrorist killed

Srinagar: Three soldiers and a terrorist on Monday were killed as troops foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of Kashmir, army said.

An Army patrol noticed suspicious movement close to the LoC in Tandghar and challenged the group of terrorists, an army official said.

He said a heavy exchange of fire ensued between the two sides and the infiltrators were forced to retreat back across the LoC.

While one terrorist was killed in the gunfight, four soldiers sustained injuries in the operation, which was in progress till last reports came in, the official said.

He said three soldiers succumbed to injuries while the condition of the fourth soldier was stated to be stable.
