BHUBANESWAR: Shifting focus to the East, agrochemicals manufacturer Insecticides India Limited has planned to achieve a larger market share in Orissa by aggressive marketing as well as launching a slew of new products. The company currently has a market share of eight percent which it targets to raise to 10 percent. Orissa’s agrochemicals market is estimated to be around ` 100 to ` 140 crore. “Strengthening our presence in the paddy segment with existing and new products, we are going to build up on the market and penetration this year”, general manager marketing MK Singhal said. The company is set to launch five new products this year mostly in paddy sector insecticides and chemicals. It has about 35 distributors and dealers and plans to expand the network substantially this fiscal. IIL has also undertaken awareness programmes under its Jagrukta Abhiyan for farmers. It has held 75 farmers meets last year and plans to increase it to 100 this year, Singhal said.
