Khatta Meetha is the sixth film Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have done together, however, only few of them have been appreciated by the audience. Trisha Krishnan, who is a known face down South, makes her debut in Bollywood with this film. Urvashi Sharma, who went unnoticed in films post Naqaab, gets a small, but important track to play in the satirical comedy.
The first day first show of Khatta Meetha saw a decent queue outside the ticket counters. We bring you the first hand reaction of the audiences who walked out of the morning show.
When asked about Akshay Kumar’s performance, Ayush Patel (24) says, “Yaar, he is too funny. He has overacted in many scenes but that’s ok. I wasn't bored by his performance.”
Shraddha Morajkar (22) says, “Akshay is good and very energetic. Somewhat similar to what he is in most of his comedy films and his comic timing is good. His scenes with Rajpal Yadav and Johnny Lever are really funny.”
Aarti Joshi (34) says, “Akshay Kumar has acted very well and in spite of facing so many problems, he is always positive about everything. He shouts so much but it goes well with the movie.”
However, people didn’t have many favorable things to say about Trisha Krishnan's acting. “She looks pretty but her pairing with Akshay does not look very great. Her acting is not very good and her face shows no emotion,” says Bhavik Vora (29).
Gaurang Aggarwal (19) says, “She didn’t act well. She couldn’t stand up to Akshay's on-screen energy . I think Urvashi would have been a better choice opposite Akshay.”
Avinash Shetty (27) says, “I was disappointed by her performance. She was ordinary and there was nothing special about her. Ya, she looks hot though.”
When asked if the film was a true entertainer? People gave mixed reactions. Parul Yadav says, “Going by the promos, I thought the film would be a complete laugh riot. But, it is a little serious. There was no story but the comedy was brilliant.”
Vishal Bhalla says, “They have shown about bureaucracy and corruption but that is not really engaging. Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav and Akshay have done fantastic comedy scenes.”
Sunita Nair says, “What a bore this film was. There are some funny moments but that’s it. I was waiting for the film to get over. Such a waste of time.”
Gayatri Sarang says, “They have just added songs for no reason. The film is slow and gets boring at times. Few comedy scenes are hilarious though.”
The feedback of the audience about Khatta Meetha is out and they have shared their bitter-sweet experience of the film. The other release of this week is Philip Noyce’s Salt starring Angelina Jolie, Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Andre Braugher.
