BANGALORE: The JD(S) has demanded a CBI probe into the BJP's charges of corruption against the family members of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda as well as Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. In a memorandum submitted to Governor H R Bhardwaj on Monday, the JD(S) has stated that the state government must refer the allegations made against each other to the CBI. "We have urged the Governor to direct the CM to positively consider our demand," senior JD(S) leader M C Nanaiah addressed reporters at the Raj Bhavan here on Monday.
The JD(S) delegation to Governor, led by Gowda, comprised H D Revanna, Nanaiah, Y S V Datta and Narayanaswamy. The decision to call on the Governor is an attempt on the part of the JD(S) to keep the BJP government on tenterhooks on the issues of corruption and maladministration.
