Journalist gets SMS warning of bomb attacks in Kozhikode
The latest SMS is the third such threat, received either over phone or through SMS.

Chennai: A journalist of a Malayalam TV channel here has received an SMS message suspected to be from Pakistan warning of bomb blasts in Kozhikode in Kerala this month.

Bimal Roy, the Chennai representative of the channel, Asianet, last night received the SMS on his mobile phone, which said, "Calicut (Kozhikode) blast planned on this month... contact Kish on 9995336022."

Roy told PTI that the message was received from the number '+923332631538', indicating it emanated from Pakistan.

Soon after he received the SMS, he had lodged a police complaint.

"Senior officials from Kerala have also spoken to me," Roy said.

The latest SMS is the third such threat, received either over phone or through SMS, warning of bomb blasts in Kerala since the Bangalore and Ahmedabad serial explosions.

A telephonic threat warning of bomb blasts in Kerala was received by a TV journalist in Bangalore a few days ago following which the state was put on a high alert.

On July 29, a police station in Kozhikode itself had received two anonymous calls from different toll-free numbers claiming that powerful bombs have been planted in and around a telephone exchange at the communally sensitive Nadapuram area there. But the calls turned out to be hoax.
