HYDERABAD: Endowments minister Jupally Krishna Rao is likely to resume his Prajabhiman Yatra in Mahaboobnagar district from June 1 to press his demand for formation of Telangana state. The yatra, which began on April 28 and has covered several villages in six Assembly constituencies in the district, was put on hold following the arrest of Krishna Rao and his ministerial colleague DK Aruna on May 20 when the latter objected to the yatra's entry into her Gadwal constituency.PCC president D Srinivas appointed a committee led by senior leader Gurunath Reddy but it could not break the deadlock.Krishna Rao met chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy at the Secretariat here on Friday along with Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannatham, MLAs T Rajeshwar Reddy (Mahaboobnagar) and Abraham (Alampur), and several former MLAs and other senior leaders.Kiran Kumar Reddy gave green signal to Rao to continue the yatra by taking into confidence the party's elected representatives and cadre in the district. However, he advised Rao to abide by the decision of district party leaders by holding a meeting with them. Rao then urged chief minister to provide security for his yatra.Earlier in the day Krishna Rao had held a meeting with his supporters at his residence here.Rao arch-rival in the district politics and information & public relations minister DK Aruna told Express that the yatra issue would be settled only at a DCC meeting."If the minister is willing to wait for the DCC meeting, I have nothing to complain about," she said.At the same time, Aruna said district Congress committee members knew well who were taking part in the yatra and who were the targets of Jupally. "We will submit a report along with all evidence, including video clippings, to responsible authorities in the PCC and AICC including video clippings.'' she said.
