There have been several controversies with the Kannada language. Locals often mention that their native languages are fading day by day with more from other states visiting the state to work. In a bid to protect and preserve the Kannada language, the Kannada Manasugala Tanda Bengaluru has taken the initiative to save the Kannada schools. This team have been working hard for a long to preserve their culture and tradition. According to media reports, they have taken the initiative to paint the century-old government schools at their own expense.

The media reports further stated that the team from the city of Bengaluru chose two schools, the Government Kannada Model Primary School in the Harugoppa village of Belgaum district and the Government Higher Primary School in the Hirebudnur village. They have reportedly spent around Rs 1.25 lakh to paint the school. They took the initiative to decorate the walls with murals of freedom fighters while enhancing the overall appearance of the schools under the campaign ‘Kannada Schools Must Survive.’

An official mentioned, “We chose to paint the schools in a bid to protect and preserve the Kannada language. This effort is aimed at attracting more children to government schools. We closely work with the people to develop the schools and make them a better place for the students to study”

Under the campaign, “Kannada Schools Must Survive, Kannada Must Grow,” the team identified the government schools that were not in very good condition. A group of around 50 members reportedly visited these schools to first inspect them. They then painted the schools with the help of the villagers. Their effort has reportedly given new life to the schools, inspiring children to pursue education with enthusiasm. “Our team’s main aim is to ensure that the government Kannada schools survive. We took this initiative to ensure that every underprivileged child received a quality education. This will inspire the children to visit school and study harder,” a member named Yallappa Kumbhar said.
