Limit Zero to release new album

Bangalore-based metal band ‘Limit Zero’ are all set to release their debut full-length album. The band was successful in kick starting its way into the metal scene with a self-titled 3 track demo EP in late 2009 and it looks like a lot of work and effort is being put into the upcoming album since then. The new album will be featuring six tracks apart from the tracks from the EP, re-recorded.

One intrinsic reason for any devoted ‘metal head’ to look forward to this album is the persona involved in giving life to it.

Apart from the contribution of the guitarist of Bangalore’s own ‘Eccentric Pendulum’ and the vocalist of ‘Bhayanak Maut’ in framing the band, this album will be featuring vocalists Siddharth Basrur of Mumbai-based ‘Goddess Gagged’ who are noteworthy of recently bagging the ‘Rolling Stones India Best band of the year’ award and Trevor Marks of ‘Toxic Grind Machine’, Netherlands. Even more amusing is the fact that the album is mixed and produced by Keshav Dhar- brainchild of modern Indian metal music, guitarist, composer and producer of the world renowned ‘Skyharbor’.

“I’ve been following this guy for ages online. When I first heard ‘Trayus’ (one of Keshav’s very first works), ‘I was like ‘Damn this guy is awesome and he likes Star Wars!’. He’s a great producer and he’s one of our (India’s) best musicians right now.” says front manShreyas Skandan. Internet has clearly contributed in bringing about a revolution, enabling the flow and integration of ideas from artists all over the globe. So much that it’s almost rare finding contemporary musicians writing their songs in jam room sessions anymore. “Our song writing process is fairly simple. We don’t jam as often as we should, so the whole throwing riffs at each other in the jam room doesn’t always seem the most efficient route. So we sit down individually and write a rough framework for an entire song and share it with the rest of the band. Each member adds or removes what he thinks fit and the song is ready to move into demo recording. We track a rough version of the song and spin it for a couple of weeks. If there’s anything that needs to be changed, we fix it at this stage. From there it’s off to the vocalist and then the song is complete,” adds Shreyas.

Overall, the album is expected to be a monster surfing it’s head over the sea of stereotypical monotonous and repetitive ‘djent’ metal bands found all over now-adays.
