Stampede in Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh: At least 10 pilgrims died and several others were injured following a stampede at a temple in Chitrakoot, Satna district. Pilgrims had gathered in large numbers to participate in the Somvati Amavasya rituals when the incident took place.

Stampede in Chitrakoot Banka,Bihar: Thousands of people tried to enter the theatre to watch cultural programmes as a part of Mandar Mela. Three persons were killed and 12 others injured, in a stampede as a crowd jostled to enter into a theatre to watch cultural functions on Makar Sankranti in Banka district in Bihar.
