London cops let go off two suspect trainee docs
They were arrested on July 2, but released without charge on Sunday.

New Delhi: A day after Australia Police charged Indian doctor Mohammad Haneef under Terrorism Act for his alleged involvement in the failed UK terror plot, two trainee doctors arrested in London have been released without charge.

According to reports, the two - aged 25 and 28 - were arrested at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, on July 2 by Strathclyde Police.

They were kept at London's Paddington Green police station till Sunday when the police deadline to charge them, release them or apply to a magistrate for further time for questioning ended.

Three people have been charged so far in connection with the failed attacks.

They include 26-year-old Sabeel Ahmed, a doctor of Indian origin in Liverpool, who was charged on Saturday under the Terrorism Act. Ahmed, arrested on June 30, is accused of possessing information which he "knew or believed may be of material assistance in preventing the commission by another of an act of terrorism".

The Indian High Commission is still waiting for permission to get consular access to Ahmed, who also happens to be Haneef's cousin.

Meanwhile in Australia, Attorney General Philip Ruddock says Australian laws will first try Haneef for charges there.

An inquiry was launched after two cars with explosive material were found parked in two locations in London on June 29.

A day later, in an apparent suicide attack attempt a burning jeep loaded with gas cylinders was driven into the main terminal building at Glasgow's international airport.
