Maharashtra: Social media post causes unrest in Dhule district
Many such similar incidents have been taking place in different parts of western Maharashtra.

Mumbai: Members of a minority group protested against a social media post in Dhule district of Maharashtra on Thursday night. People went out of control and pelted stones on state transport buses and damaged properties.

The incident happened in Devpur area after the derogatory posts surfaced on Facebook and messages were circulated through Whatsapp.

Four policemen have been injured after an altercation with the furious group of people. The police claimed that the situation had been brought under control within a few hours. The police have detained several protestors and inquires are being carried out.

The police are carrying out investigations regarding the acccused who had put the post on the social networking website. The accused is yet to be traced. The police is suspecting that the post was put on purpose to hurt the religious sentiments of the people and stir trouble. It is a cause of concern for the police, as many such similar incidents have been taking place in different parts of western Maharashtra.
