Police said that during interrogation the accused Chandrahas alias Guddu admitted that he killed the girl after failing to rape her.
Lucknow: A man was Monday arrested for allegedly killing a minor girl after failing to rape her in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, police sources said in Lucknow.
The 11-year-old girl went missing on October 18 when she had gone to graze her cattle in Tilhar area and two days later her body was found buried in a field, they said.
On the basis of investigation, police on Monday arrested Chandrahas alias Guddu from Dariabazar and recovered blood-stained clothes allegedly of the victim, they said. During interrogation Guddu told police that he killed the girl after failing to rape her, they said.
