CHENNAI: The Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF) on Friday honoured Dr Chinmoy Sankar Dey, professor at the Kusuma School of Biological Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, with the first 'MDRF Honour Lecture Award' for his significant contributions that he made to the field of biological sciences.
The award, presented by the MDRF's president Dr V Mohan, was in recognition of Dey's work in the areas of 'molecular mechanisms of insulin resistance and drug target identification in type2 diabetes'. Henceforth, professor Dey will also serve as a visiting scientist at Madras Diabetes Research Foundation.
