Shree Jain Medical Relief Society, a registered charitable trust, recently inaugurated a multi-speciality dialysis centre, fully equipped with a lab, a diagnostic centre and a clinic.
The new project has been completed at a cost of Rs 2 crore. The centre was inaugurated by S Gokula Indira, Minister for Tourism.
P Vetrivel, North Chennai District Secretary-AIADMK, Prakashchandji Mutha, president, Tamil Nadu Jain Maha Sangh, Parasmalji Bohra, president, All India Jaimal Jain Sangh, V Kanagasabai, dean, Madras Medical Centre and Rajiv Gandhi Govt. General Hospital were also present on the occasion. The Society is planning to install six dialysis machine, each costing `6 lakh and dialysis will be performed at a cost of `300 per patient.
The main aim of this new unit at Perambur is to provide treatment for the weaker sections of the society at a nominal cost, said Neelamchand Surana, project chairman.
The project is sponsored and supported by donors like Mittalalji Mahendra Kunkulol, Anchi Bai Hemraj Kataria, Bhwarilal Moolchand Hemraj Surana, Mittalal Jwarailal Bhora, Kamaladevi Dulichand Bagmar, Uttamchandji Darshan Kumarji Bafna, Javanthiben Jawarharlal Mehta, Kiran Devi – Parasmalji Surana.
The Shree Jain Medical Relief Society manages various medical units including the Devraj Manickchand Maternity Hospital and Child Care Centre at Sowcarpet, Bhagwan Mahaveer Eye Hospital at Royapuram, Khivraj Chordia Memorial Dialysis Centre at Mylapore, Multi Speciality Jain Clinic Ratnabai Jain Dispensary at Pattalam and the Dheeraj Bafna Jain Phsyiotherapy Centre at Sowcarpet
