BHUBANESWAR: The State council of the CPI slammed the Government for its failure to face the flood situation in the State. After visiting the flood-affected districts of the State for the last three days, party general secretary Dibakar Nayak said the Government was neither able to rescue the marooned for the last five days nor relief materials reached them.Disputing the Government’s claim that cooked food was provided to the flood- affected people, Nayak said the people who have taken shelter on river banks are living under open sky.They have not been provided polythene and the domestic animals are starving without feed. Several teams of the party visited the flood-affected areas of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Puri, Cuttack and Sambalpur where they found people are living in unhygienic conditions and no provision for drinking flood water.
