'Most Difficult Time in 50 Years': SUV Driver, Arrested For Damaging Delhi IAS Coaching Centre Gate, Opens Up

Manuj Kathuria, who was allegedly held responsible for breaking a door at an IAS training institute, which led to flooding and the subsequent deaths of four students, stated that his arrest was the “most difficult time” of his life.

In a post on team-bhp.com, Kathuria expressed, “I would like to thank everyone for the incredible love and support showered upon me at the most difficult time I have faced in 50 years of my existence.”

The 50-year-old, later granted bail, expressed gratitude to those who believed in his “innocence” and supported him when his voice was “silenced” and his “freedom curtailed.”

Kathuria, who drives a Force Gurkha, further added that he cannot comment on the case due to his bail conditions.

Hoping to reunite with his team, the car enthusiast wrote that the probe is still pending with CBI and he hopes that “better sense will prevail”.

Three IAS Students Died In Delhi Coaching Centre Flooding

Three students died after the basement of an IAS training academy in old Rajender Nagar was flooded on Saturday (July 27). The investigation was later handed over to CBI, who made around 5 arrests, including Kathuria.

The probe agency later booked the owner of Rau’s IAS Study Circle’s co-owner and CEO Abhishek Gupta under sections of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, causing death by negligence, voluntary causing hurt, negligent conduct with regards to pulling down, repairing or constructing building and common intention.
