Mumbai Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead Of Ratan Tata’s Funeral At Worli Crematorium; Check Routes To Avoid
In view of the significant turnout expected for the funeral of Ratan Tata, the Mumbai Police on Thursday informed about the traffic diversions that have been implemented along key routes in the city.

Ratan Tata, the former chairman of Tata Sons, breathed his last on October 9 at Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai. His body, draped in the Indian national flag, is placed on the lawns of the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) at Nariman Point, allowing the public to pay their last respects until 4 PM.

Following this, his mortal remains will be taken for the final rites at the Prayer Hall of the Worli Crematorium.

In view of the significant turnout expected for the funeral of Ratan Tata, the Mumbai Police on Thursday informed about the traffic diversions that have been implemented along key routes in the city to manage vehicular movement.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Saadhan Pawar issued orders to temporarily close Dr E. Moses Marg from Worli Naka to Rakangi Junction to all vehicles except those involved in the funeral procession.

The commuters must note that alternative routes have been announced for vehicles heading towards the Worli Naka area. Vehicles can take routes from Rakangi Junction to Mahalakshmi Railway Station via Keshavrao Khade and Haji Ali Junction or navigate through Senapati Bapat Marg and N.M. Joshi Marg.

Those travelling to Mahalakshmi Railway Station are advised to use Dr Annie Besant Marg and follow designated detours through Ghaffar Khan Junction and Rajni Patel (Lotus Junction).

The Maharashtra government has declared a day of mourning, with flags flown at half-mast across government buildings as a mark of respect.
