Munirathna is Film Producers Association head

BANGALORE: Politician-cum-producer Munirathna, on Sunday was elected as the president of Kannada Film Producers Association.Munirathna defeated Bha Ma Harish by 78 votes. He polled 131 votes while Ba Ma Harish managed to poll 53 votes. Ganesh has been elected as the vice-president of the association. Speaking to The New Indian Express, Munirathna said that his priority was to work for the welfare of Kannada film producers. “I want to restore the dignity of the film producers,” he said.Expressing happiness over being elected as the secretary, Soorappa Babu said that Kannada film producers were not in favour of dubbing of other language films in Kannada. “My main priority is to have own premises for Kannada Film Producers’ Association,” said Babu.
