New Delhi: In yet another case of child sexual abuse, a four-year-old student was allegedly molested by a private school-cab driver in North Delhi's Timarpur, police said on Sunday.
The abuse had been going on for several days and the child's mother only found out after her daughter started refusing to go to school in the school cab.
"Four days ago, the girl started crying after seeing the cab driver. The mother consoled her and the girl mustered the courage to narrate her ordeal. She told her mother that the cab driver had touched her inappropriately," a senior police officer said.
The girl's mother, a government employee, filed a molestation case immediately. The driver, Manoj Kumar, was booked under section 12 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Posco) Act and molestation. He was sent to jail by a Delhi court.
The mother also accused the driver of sexual assault but the girl's medical examination ruled out rape or unnatural sex.
On August 16, a four-year-old student of a public school in South Delhi's Hauz Khas area was allegedly sexually abused by the driver of a private school cab who was later arrested.
Similarly, on August 5, the Delhi Police arrested another cab driver for repeatedly abusing a five-year-old student of a private school in Kalkaji.
