The College Level Counselling (CLC) for admissions on vacant seats in engineering colleges of the state would commence from August 4. This counselling is a significant one since more than 70% seats are still vacant despite three rounds of centralised counselling by the directorate of technical education (DTE). From August 4 to 10, colleges will be conducting admission process where students can register on the spot for the vacant seats and the merit basis seats will be allotted.
Bhopal: School students celebrate monsoon and Van Mahotsav
The students of Shree Bhavan’s Bharti Public School celebrated the monsoon and Van Mahotsav festival on Saturday. The students participated in various activities like writing slogans, creating short skits in the class, writing poems and creating innovative banners. The investiture ceremony was also held where the student leaders took several responsibilities which will prepare them in their future life.
Bhind: 4-year-old faces discrimination by students in school
A four-year-old boy was allegedly discriminated by other students in a school at Gohad town of the district. The boy took admission few days back at the National Convent Schoolbut none of the students agreed to sit with him as he belongs to lower caste. The boy’s father, Santosh Valmiki took the matter to the school authorities. However the parents were disappointed as the school authorities expressed their inability to tackle the situation.
Shahjapur: Monkeys stranded on tree due to flood situation in the district

Senior police, forest and administration officials of the district visited Madkota village where about two dozen monkeys are stranded on trees after water was released from a dam constructed under Kachhal Project in the area. The monkeys have been in the tree for more than a week. The forest officials attempted to rescue them, but could not do much. The villagers also tried to feed the monkeys but a little were managed.
Sagar: Couple lodges complain against district hospital for changing new-born
A couple lodged a complaint at the Kotwali police station against the district hospital for changing their newborn male child with dead girl. The incident took place on Thursday night when Malti Devi, resident of Kathora village was admitted at the hospital. The newly-born, due to weakness, was admitted in the child ward ICU. On Friday, the dead body of a girl was handed over by the hospital staff to the couple instead of the boy. The couple took the matter to the police station. Investigations are on to ascertain the truth.
Indore: Mayor felicitates 10 senior journalists, inaugurate “Shraddhanidhi Yojna”
The state government on Friday inaugurated “Shraddhanidhi Yojna” to felicitate senior journalists of the district. Mayor Krishnamurari Moghe inaugurated the scheme at Indore Press Club and felicitated 10 journalists of the district for their contribution in the journalism field. He also distributed cheque of Rs 25,000 each and citation among them.
