'No One Should Be Scared': PM Modi On His Big Vision For Developed India By 2047
PM Modi raised questions at the Opposition for spreading fear that the BJP would try to change the constitution if it is voted to power at the Centre

Day after releasing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election manifesto, which aims at building a ‘Viksit Bharat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi — in an interview with ANI — expressed his vision for a developed India by 2047.

PM Modi raised questions at the Opposition for spreading fear that the BJP would try to change the constitution if it is voted to power at the Centre.

“When I say that I have big plans, no one should be scared. I don’t take decisions to scare or run-over anyone, I take decisions for the wholesome development of the nation,” the prime minister said.

Additionally, he said, “governments always say we have done everything, I don’t believe I have done everything. I have tried to do everything in the right direction, yet there is so much I need to do, because I see that my country has so many needs”. “How do I fulfill the dreams of every family, that is why I say this is a trailer,” PM Modi said.

Talking about the question of his 2047 vision, he said, “First of all, I have been the Chief Minister of Gujarat for a long time. And I am used to the experience. If elections are held again and again then from my state, 30-40 senior good officers used to go as observers, for election duty.”

“So they used to stay out for 40-50 days. I used to worry how will I run the government?” he asked, saying that “because in the country, such elections keep happening and my observers keep going”.

The prime minister said that he always thought that he won’t take the election period to be a “vacation”. “I give jobs to the officials in advance. I ask them to do this for the next government. So I used to plan for 100 days even at that time,” PM Modi added.

Work For Viksit Bharat Underway From Last Two Years

The prime minister revealed that he has already set a target plan for his first 100 days in the office if he is elected to the next term, adding that work for the 2047 Viksit Bharat ambition has been going on for the last two years.

For the Viksit Bharat plan, PM Modi said that he has taken suggestions of more than 15 lakh people on “how they want to see India in the coming 25 years”. From universities to NGOs to the nation’s people, all these people were contacted for their inputs.

“Then I took the help of AI and classified it subject-wise. I made a dedicated team of officers in every department to work on this. How can it be done for the next term? For 25 years. And I sat with them and they gave presentations for two to 2.5 hours,” the prime minister said in an interview to news agency ANI.

Noting that India would be celebrating 100 years of Independence in 2047, the prime minister said that everyone in the country should have a goal. During such a milestone, there’s new excitement, creation of new resolution, he said.

“I am the head of my village, by 2047, I will do this much in my village. And an inspiration should arise in the country. And the 100th anniversary of independence is a great inspiration in itself,” PM Modi was quoted as saying.

The choice between for the people in this Lok Sabha election, the PM said, is between a failed model of the Congress and the performance delivering model of the BJP.

“They (Congress) have worked for 5-6 decades and I have only worked for 10 years. Compare these in any field. Even if there are some shortcomings, there will be no shortcomings in our efforts,” PM Modi said.

Even after two of the ten years of the BJP’s term to the Covid-19 pandemic, the prime minister said that at an overall developmental level — taking in account the speed and scale — there is a model that says “yes, we will walk on this path with so much speed”.

He said his goal in the next term is to increase the pace as well as the scale of the Viksit Bharat project. PM Modi believes that when the responsibility of running the nation is entrusted upon a person, then there should be a “single-minded focus on the country, the people of the country”.

Taking a jibe at the Opposition, he said that in the past, the political culture was focused on making the family strong, whereas PM Modi’s work is aimed at making the nation strong.

He said, “When the country is strong, everyone experiences its benefits. Where something is happening, we are working hard, we are doing it with honesty, these things have an impact. So 2024, this election, we have taken our track record and they have brought their track record.”

Work In The First 100 Days

PM Modi reiterated the work done by his government in the first 100 days in 2019 as well, saying that this is what he is looking to achieve once again.

The prime minister does not want to “lose even a minute”. In 2019, he said, “At that time too, I gave 100 days’ work and went to the election field. And when I came back, Article 370, I did it in 100 days. With repealing of Triple Talaq, I made my sisters free. I did it in the first 100 days. I plan ahead and put it on the basis.”

“Trust is a very big power,” the prime minister said, adding that he takes this trust as a responsibility.

Pran Jaye Par Vacchan Na Jaye, Says PM Modi; Hits Out At Oppn

Again taking a swipe at the Opposition, he pointed at how it failed to keep its promises. He said that politicians should own the statements they make to the citizens.

“I feel that political leadership is becoming questioning. In such a situation, we should remember that we have a tradition of ‘Pran Jaye par Vacchan na Jaye’ (You can lose your life but not your word). I believe that politicians should take ownership, they should take responsibility,” PM Modi said.

He reinforced that he has always stuck by his word, the commitments he has made and has fulfilled them. By saying ‘Modi ki guarantee’, the prime minister said that he “was giving the people a guarantee that he would fulfill all his promises”.

The PM even referred to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement over poverty and said, “Now I have heard a politician’s speech in which he said ‘I will remove poverty in a jiffy’. Now those who got to rule five to six decades, when they say today that I will remove poverty in a jiffy, then people will raise questions.”

The Congress leader, in his statement, had said that he would finish off poverty in a jiffy by transferring Rs 1 lakh into the account of a household’s poor woman.

Later, the PM also said that he is only serving Mother India like a son, saying that this was his mission.

He urged voters to bravely get through the heat and vote. He called on the first-time voters to consider the nation’s future for the next 25 years.
