CHENNAI: K Ramanujam, Director General of Police of Tamil Nadu had denied a newspaper report that said that there was a move for bifurcation of the Chennai city police into two commissionerates.In a release from the office of the DGP, he said that the news item was without any basis. A report had appeared in a newspaper on Saturday that Chennai city police was to be split into two as Metro 1 and Metro 2, with an officer of the rank of DGP supervising the two commissionerates.
