White Plains (New York): New charges have been brought against four New York men accused of plotting to bomb New York City synagogues and shoot down military airplanes.
The eight-count indictment was returned on Tuesday in federal court in suburban White Plains. The indictment adds three counts of attempting to use weapons of mass destruction and a count alleging an attempt to acquire and use anti-aircraft missiles. It also adds a charge of conspiracy to kill US officers and employees and a charge of attempting to kill US officers and employees.
The men were originally charged with conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction and conspiracy to acquire and use anti-aircraft missiles.
An arraignment has been scheduled for Wednesday.
