Odisha: Maintenance Train Engine Catches Fire in Dhenkanal
After the fire broke out in the engine, 12 employees including the loco-pilot got down from the engine and escaped safely

As many as 12 railway employees had a close shave after a maintenance train engine along with the maintenance van caught fire due to a suspected short-circuit at Joranda Road station in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district .

It is suspected that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the train maintenance engine while the engine was on its way to Dhenkanal from Raja Athagarh station.

Fire department personnel from Dhenkanal reached the spot and doused the fire with the help of two fire brigade vehicles.

The electricity was also been disconnected to ensure a smooth operation. Railway sources said that railway traffic on the line has been disrupted temporarily.

After the fire broke out in the engine, 12 employees including the loco-pilot got down from the engine and escaped safely.
