4 Killed in Tarn Taran After Car Rams Truck

In another accident in Punjab’s Tarn Taran on Friday, four people travelling in a car were killed while one was seriously injured when their vehicle collided with a truck. The accident took place at Harike Bypass on the Amritsar-Bathinda national highway as the visibility was very poor due to fog.

Police said the five people travelling in the car had gone to Amritsar for pilgrimage and they began their return journey late at night from Amritsar to Guru Har Sahai in Ferozpur district. The driver was admitted to the hospital with multiple injuries, they said.

In the first week of January, in another such incident in Andhra Pradesh, a toddler was among three persons killed while several others were injured after two cars collided in Devarapalli.

The driver of a speeding car lost control, rammed into the opposite road and eventually collided head-on with another car. This incident, too, was caught on CCTV cameras. At least seven passengers were in one car, while four were in the other.
